I like to travel throughout the west with my wife and three dogs finding secluded locations to stay and explore.

“Growing up, I liked to play in the creek behind our house with my friends and younger brother, Jack, in Oklahoma. Being outside when I was younger, I think, led me to a career in the outdoors. I’ve worked in environmental consulting for 10 years in Oklahoma, Texas, and Alaska, trail work with AmeriCorps in Arizona, and now working in the Forest Service and Anthony Lakes Ski Resort.

While in Arizona, we rebuilt sections of the South Kaibab trail in the Grand Canyon, built the last two miles of trail connecting the southern and northern section of the Arizona trail, and did trail maintenance throughout the state.

Although I took time off working on trails, I always went back to thinking about that lifestyle; this led me to build our camper van which I lived in for some time in Alaska and currently live in while I am working at Anthony Lakes. In the off season, I like to travel throughout the west with my wife and three dogs finding secluded locations to stay and explore. Baker City has been a great place for us to be able to live an outdoor life.”
